PAT'S A CELTIC FAN – OR A LIVERPOOL FAN
By Trialist
Last night, Pat McCourt became Gordon Strachan's first signing of this summer's transfer window, the 24-year old winger signing a three-year contract with the Hoops following his move from Derry City for a fee reported as £150,000.
After signing for the three-in-a-row SPL Champions, Pat McCourt enthused: “I'm thrilled and it still hasn't quite sunk in yet to be honest. This is a dream come true for me.”
Pat McCourt continued: “There was interest from a few clubs but as soon as I found out that Celtic were in for me, my mind was made up.”
Pat McCourt added: “I have always been a Celtic supporter and there was only one choice to make. It's an honour to join one of the biggest Clubs in the world.”
“I have always been a Celtic supporter”? Ooops. Are you sure, Pat?
On the 17th June, the Express & Star published the following article when Pat McCourt was expected to sign for West Brom:
“McCourt sets sights on Anfield
Paddy McCourt has set his sights on playing at Anfield as he prepares to complete his move to Albion.
The Northern Ireland winger is expected in the West Midlands for a medical later this week, before signing a three-year contract at The Hawthorns.
The Derry City man is already casting his eye over the Baggies' fixture list for the new season, especially the trip to Liverpool on November 8.
He said: “I'm a Liverpool fan, as is my whole family, so obviously I'll be looking to see when we are playing at Anfield. I always dreamed of running out at the Kop for Liverpool, but I suppose I have got the next best thing.”
This internet thingy is a right bugger, ain't it?
